CLA unites the comprehensive undergraduate leadership training programs of the following institutions:
- Colorado State University-Ft. Collins
- Colorado State University-Pueblo
- Johnson & Wales University
- Metropolitan State College of Denver
- Regis University
- United States Air Force Academy
- University of Colorado-Boulder
- University of Colorado-Colorado Springs
- University of Colorado-Denver
- University of Denver
- University of Northern Colorado
Through academic and experiential learning components, these university programs train the best and brightest students in our state to become the capable leaders of Colorado’s future. As an umbrella organization, CLA supports the development of each program through providing a forum to communicate best practices, create shared outcomes, and engage in joint fundraising efforts.
Throughout the year, many CLA-sponsored events allow the collaboration of both students and program directors from each member campus as they share resources, efforts and ideas, as well as foster professional and personal connections. The CLA Summit, held annually, brings renowned leaders to speak and interact with students, directors, and friends of CLA during this unique conference. Another much-anticipated yearly event is the CLA Luncheon. The luncheon honors excellence in leadership through the presentation of the 9NEWS Leader of the Year Award and the CLA Student Leader of the Year Award presented by the Boettcher Foundation, as well as the recognition of some of CLA’s most exceptional student leaders.
As the Leadership Foundation extends its leadership continuum from seasoned executives to college students, the board of the DMCLF perceives a great deal of potential in synergizing the work of the Alliance and that of the Foundation. Both parties anticipate unique opportunities for Colorado’s business leadership to connect with talented, motivated CLA students, thus enhancing the state’s workforce structure and development. The DMCLF hopes to provide unique opportunities to connect college students with events happening at the Chamber including the City-to City Leadership Exchange, Access Denver, Leadership Denver, business training programs, issues-based committee meetings and various other events.
