An Introduction to Civic Leadership
What: An introductory civic leadership program specially designed for Metro Denver’s next generation of community leaders.
Who: Denver Metro area professionals interested in developing their leadership skills, learning about the region, and beginning their civic involvement.

Program Schedule:
Four half-day and two full-day monthly sessions (including a class retreat) and a closing reception comprise this six-month emerging leaders program. The class schedule typically takes place from January through June, but dates are subject to change. Class members also will be required to attend all sessions, complete experiential assignments, and participate in a community volunteer project in order to be scheduled outside the regular class sessions.
Content Emphasis:
Introduction to Metro Denver Issues: Introduction to Regional Priorities and Current Metro Denver Issues (e.g. Education, Healthy Communities, Arts/Sports/Culture, Service and Philanthropy, Policy and Politics, etc.)
Civic and Community Leadership Skills Training: Board Training, Planning, Presentation and Collaboration Skills, Fund Development, Active Citizenship, Trusteeship
Leadership Opportunities and Next Steps: Call-to-Action Opportunities, Short-term Class Service Project
Program Fees: 2011 program fees are $1,600 per person and include all required program materials and meals. Limited scholarship assistance is available for candidates demonstrating need. (Scholarships are limited to representatives from small business, government and non-profit organizations.)
