The Denver Metro Chamber Leadership Foundation
Inspiring Leadership in Colorado Communities

The Denver Metro Chamber Leadership Foundation is the state's premier leadership organization with a 39-year history of preparing and connecting leaders from the business and civic communities to strengthen Colorado’s future.

The Leadership Foundation helps emerging and recognized leaders expand their skills and enhance their knowledge of local and state issues, as well as leverage their individual passion to make positive changes in our community. Through a range of leadership programs that provide exclusive opportunities for access, dialogue and issues-based education, the Leadership Foundation enhances individual, career and professional growth while creating significant value for participating companies.

The programs that the Leadership Foundation offers include the following:

  • Access Denver exposes new, newly-promoted or new-to-Denver, senior-level Denver executives to the influential people and critical issues of the Denver area, providing an exclusive two-day introduction to the city’s business and community landscape.

  • Colorado Experience  is designed to promote dialogue relating to state-wide business and policy issues. The program provides an opportunity for emerging and executive leaders to explore Colorado’s regional issues and to strengthen collective vision and collaboration in our communities.

  • Colorado Leadership Alliance (CLA), a collaborative effort led by the Leadership Foundation that includes 11 Colorado member campuses, helps prepare undergraduate students for career leadership through academic coursework, internship/externship experiences and merit-based scholarships for top emerging leaders.

  • Impact Denver builds confidence and leadership skills for professionals with a desire to increase their community involvement while introducing them to topics of significance to the region. (Six-month program, half day/month).

  • Leadership Alumni Network ties together 2,300 alumni of the Leadership Foundation's programs, who represent the Denver Metro region's business, civic and community leaders.

  • Leadership Denver is an 11-month program that brings 55 established and emerging leaders together to learn about the issues facing our region and promote community stewardship, while creating lifelong networks that foster professional goals. (One day/month).

  • Leadership Exchange (LEX) is a city-to-city exchange that unites Denver's most influential civic and business leaders with those of other cities encountering similar present-day issues. The Leadership Exchange is a dialogue of ideas, challenges, resolutions, discoveries, innovations and solutions. LEX makes a difference in our community through learning from the advances and ventures of others.

In addition to providing participants with opportunities to build strong personal and professional networks, the Leadership Foundation is the single best forum for bringing the private, public and nonprofit sectors together to work collaboratively on issues vital to the future of our community. In fact, Leadership Foundation program participants and alumni have played critical roles in passing key economic development and civic works projects important to the community at large, including the passage of Referenda C, the public support of Fastracks, the development of DIA, and the formation of RTD. Leadership Foundation programs also help foster stability and success within Denver’s nonprofit community by motivating leaders to become involved as volunteers, board members and donors.

Since 1974, the Leadership Foundation has continuously provided unique opportunities to cultivate, expand and leverage the tremendous leadership resources of our community in order to bring about a stronger future for Colorado.
